CRYOTHERAPY

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is growing in popularity in wellness clinics amongst athletes, gym go-ers, and health enthusiasts.

Cryotherapy, also known as cold therapy, is a technique where the body is exposed to cold temperatures for several minutes.

At Revive Vero Beach, we practice whole-body cryotherapy. For the therapy, the individual or patient will stand in an enclosed chamber, submersing the entire body from the neck down while cold air expelled by our state of the art cryochamber.

The Science & Benefits of Cryotherapy

Our whole-body cryochamber reaches temperatures below -150 degrees Fahrenheit. As the temperature begins to the drop and the cooler temperatures begin affecting the skin’s surface, your thermoreceptors send electrical signals to the brain. The body’s natural defense mechanism is then triggered – In response, the body begins to direct blood flow away from the limbs and transporting the blood to the vital organs. As the blood is concentrating around the organs, the body starts oxygenating the blood, flushing it of toxins and lactic acid. Upon exiting the cryochamber, the body begins to return to its normal state. The newly oxygenated and enriched blood returns to the limbs and blood vessels begin to dilate as body starts to redistribute heat to the body.
